Each accommodation was selected for the price, distance from the 3 main venues, be in the heart of the city or close to the brides home and the facilities or lack thereof.

Hotel Holiday Park

Location: 2 minutes walk from the brides house, 10 minutes from the Church and Hotel.

Budget: Rm50 and above

Marina Court KK

Location: In the heart of the city, 10 minutes from the Hotel, Church and 15 minutes from the brides house

Budget: N/A

Borneo Backpackers

Location: In the heart of the city, 10 minutes from the Hotel, Church and 15 minutes from the brides house

Budget:RM 25 to RM140

I went to check out the place for you and I found the place very quaint, clean, and vibrant. Set in the middle of the city you will be close to the morning markets that are held every Sunday and the nightlife. Red district area is only 5 minutes away but I will leave that to my hometown boys to show you

Travelers Light Backpackers Lodge

Location: In the heart of the city, 10 minutes from the Hotel, Church and 15 minutes from the brides house

Budget: RM 25 to RM150

Situated right behind Borneo Backpackers and another place to consider if your wanting to be in the middle of the city. Staff were nice (abit blur) but helpful. Security is not bad as the front door is locked and all callers are screened before they let you in.

Borneo Hotel

Location: In the heart of the city, 10 minutes from the Hotel, Church and 15 minutes from the brides house

Budget: RM 145 to RM175

The hotel is slightly more expensive but it would it’s situated in between the big malls in the city and facing the sea, fish market and the Filipino market.

Borneo Beach House

Conveniently situated 5 minutes away from the airport and a stones throw away from the beach and a 10 minute walk to the hotel reception. Perfect for those who want to be near the beach. The backpackers are 10-15 minutes away from the city and church, about 20 minutes from the Brides house. I wrote to them to ask if they have a special deal and to read their reply click here

5. Convenient distance from the Airport both Air Asia terminal and Kota Kinabalu International Airport

Taking the bus or taxi to the city is as easy as 123. But prepare yourself as the bus drivers sometimes think of themselves as rally drivers.

Imperial International Hotel
