Guess what?

MOH officially proposed to me on the island after fishing with a diamond ring! I was in shock as I never thought he would do it on bended knee and in front of people. We are such dorks and we always do things upside down, like buying a house together without any plans for the future,  planning for a marriage without getting engaged yet and all sorts of mischief that we can get up to. I always moaned to MOH that I didn’t have a ring and we should get a tatoo on our wedding finger instead of a ring (as I thought that was just oh so cool!). But the man didn’t want that and wanted to do it the right way. Many months passed and heaps of pressure from me to just get it done but the man persevered and when he finally did it I was totally blown away! Shut my mouth it did.

It went oh so romantically like this, or not…

I was busy fishing when  my line got tangled up and as I was trying to unravel the nest that I made Pearce (MOH brother) came over to say that MOH and Jo wanted to show me something on the other side of the island. I didn’t really think much about it at that time, so I passed the fishing rod to Pearce and went to find the pair. When I saw them Jo was on the ground and MOH was asking me to stand on a rock. I didn’t think it was weird at that time as I thought that maybe Jo wanted to show me something and I would need to stand on a rock to see it.

When I stood on the rock MOH kneeled at my feet (I was still clueless at this time) he took off his hat and said ” I have a ring for you” takes the ring from his pocket, opens it and ask “Will you marry me?” I was so touched that I burst out crying but not before I said “NoOoOOoo, whatever!”  in disbelief, MOH was so shock that he continued on talking “I hope you like this, I got this for you, noOOoo, huh? Did you just say NO?”. I laughed and said “No, I mean YES, I will marry you!” I took the ring to have a look and he put it on my finger (cue applause!) and we kissed. Jo  even had the time to take photos of the whole thing! Thanks Jo!

After this photo was taken I started crying and I have no idea why!

I kept it in the box while we were moving our gear back into the boat but I couldn’t

wait to wear it again once we were on dry land!

I really did not expect to get such a beautiful ring!

This is the man who when I first laid eyes on him I knew, was one special guy.

To MOH, you know you didn’t have to do this and yet you did and tried in your own way to make this a special moment. I am very touched by your efforts and am so glad that you chose me to be your life partner and friend.
